The Studio Behind the Line

Our Story

A brother and sister, a carving bench, and the wildlife of the Northwest.

Born of a Bond

Rooted in Alaska

Northern Spiritlines Ink & Thread Company was born from the creative bond between a brother and sister — Alexander and Jessie Pappas. Born in the Pacific Northwest and raised in Alaska, they grew up surrounded by the coastline, forests, and wildlife that shape their work today.

Every design begins as an original piece hand-carved by Alexander Pappas, engraved into wood and precious metals. Apprenticed under a renowned Alaskan master carver, he honors that craftsmanship while expressing a vision entirely his own — then Jessie translates each carving into digital form, preserving its intricate detail so it can live across a curated collection of home goods, apparel, and gifts.

How Every Design Is Made
